Comments on article on Eva Hesse's work
Among Eva Hesse's work, the sculptures(one image- page 20) with ropes and strings have been my favorite. They are 3D drawings to me. She is one of the artists who have freed line from representation, releasing it into space effectively. Since I use threads and strings in my own work often, I was very inspired by reading the observations on ropes and strings in Eva Hesse's work from page 18-20. The author wrote: ----ropes functioning as a denial of separation as an extension of communication, and as a symbol of union. String can be looked upon as an extension of all other techniques of communication. String joins just as it also helps in the wrapping up of objects and in the holding of unintegrated material.....
Here is another artist, Gego. She made drawings without paper.

Comment on Art Making Process
I agree. For me, the art making process brings together an internal meditative practice with the external research of content. As a result, the work sometimes hovers in an in-between space. Here's an interesting article that approaches Eva Hesse's work through the lens of psychoanalysis. http://psybc.com/pdfs/library/SearchofHerOwnLanguage1.pdf
Comments on Emma Kunz's work
Art making process is therapeutic to me. Especially when I cut & paste using my old bookpages, prints and drawings (for collage), psychologically, I feel good!

Philippe Decrauzat
Decrauzat's installations push the idea of drawing in space. I'm mesmerized and inspired. Recently, I discovered the works of another Swiss artist, Emma Kunz. Kunz considered her drawings more as vehicles for healing than as works of fine art. This blog is a place where you can document ideas, post preliminary work, show off your resources, ask pertinent questions, and share your inspirations; artists, links, travel, notes, marginalia, and most importantly discuss drawing. If you want to post video as well as still images, this can be done through blogger and YouTube, which allows you to copy and paste their code into any blog posting. Have fun all!!!
